The Gospel Is...The Good News...

The Bible says that....
    More than 2,000 years ago, God did an amazing thing. He sent His Son down from Heaven and He became a human being by the name of Jesus Christ.

    Why did He do this? The reason, the Bible tells us...

      Is that we have all sinned and the wages of sin is death
      Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;
      .

      And, that sin separates us from God
      Isaiah 59:2 It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, He has turned away and will not listen anymore.
      .

    First, The Bad News....

      The result of this sin and separation from God is an emptiness, an ever-present guilt, and a certain fear of death.

      Also, the Bible teaches that every human being will be brought before the judgment throne of God
      Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
      for an ultimate and decisive judgment
      2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
      and Christ Himself will be the judge.

      This judgment could lead to eternal separation from God and condemnation to eternal punishment in hell or it could lead to no condemnation and eternal life with God.

    The Good News Is....

      because God loves us, in spite of our rebellion, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay our sin debt by dying in our place so as to bridge the gap between God and ourselves
      1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
      .

      Jesus came and died for us and then rose on the third day. He was here for a little while and then was taken up to heaven where He sits at the right hand of God
      Mark 16:19 When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand.
      .

      According to scripture there is a heavenly eternal place and we can have life with God after death. This life
      John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
      comes from Jesus Christ as a gift
      Romans 6:23 ...but the gift of God is eternal life.
      .

    What must we do to receive this gift of eternal life?

      To receive this gift from God we must simply seek His forgiveness and peace through repentence of our sins. Then, we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,
      Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved,”
      fully trusting Him for what He has done and for our future.

    When should we do this?

      This gift of life from Jesus Christ is only available during our life time and no one knows the duration of their life. After we die this gift can no longer be received.

    What will be your decision?

      Every person is going to spend eternity somewhere. The destination is determined in this lifetime by a choice we make to either accept or reject Jesus' offer of forgiveness.

      Doing nothing is a decision and is the same as rejecting Jesus.

      If you have not made a decision… Steps to Peace with God will show you how accept Jesus' offer of forgiveness.
