Our Hope For The Future...
Hope is what we all want. Hope can be an incredible thing. But sometimes life can "get in the way" and it can be hard to hold on to that hope.
What does hope give us?
Hope gives us what our hearts need most. Hope that our sins will be forgiven. Hope that our prayers will be answered. Hope that doors of opportunity, that seemed locked, will be opened for us. Hope that our broken relationships will be reconciled. Hope that our injured and diseased bodies will be healed. Hope that our damaged trust will be restored. Hope for our future.
Hope is a wonderful and powerful thing. It's not just a feeling or an emotion. It's not dependent on circumstances. Real hope is a constant positive attitude that, no matter what the circumstances, things will change for the better.
Where do we find hope?
There are so many things we can put our hope in. It's tempting to think that whenever that situation is smoothed out, or that promise is fulfilled, or that event has passed...then everything will be ok.
But the reality is that having hope in anything besides Jesus Christ holds the chance of failing and letting us down.
God gives hope to those that trust Him!
If you are running low on hope, go to the Bible to recharge! (Psalm 42:5)
If you need rest from your wearyness listen to Jesus. (Matthew 11:28-29)
If you have needs and your supply is running low call on the Lord. (Philippians 4:19)
If your troubled by fear, listen to God for peace. (Proverbs 1:33)
If you lost your confidence that God hears you, read this. (1 John 5:13-14)
If you have lost your strength wait on the Lord. (Isaiah 40:31)
If you have lost your joy and peace continue to trust God. (Romans 15:13)
Did you know that God has given us incredible promises. (2 Peter 1:4)
Did you know that because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, you have a "living hope." (1 Peter 1:3)
Did you know that you have an inheritance that exceeds your wildest dreams. (1 Peter 1:4)
Did you know that through your faith, God is protecting you. (1 Peter 1:5)
Did you know that you are a child of God. (1 John 3:10)
Did you know that God has placed within each of us an interest in the future. Life here on earth does not go on forever, but something within us testifies that our soul will live eternally somewhere. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
Billy Graham said: "For the believer there is hope beyond the grave, because Jesus Christ has opened the door to heaven for us by His death and resurrection."
You can give thanks to God for you have been saved by His grace through faith and not of our own doing. It is the gift of God, not a result of our works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
So, don't lose heart. Though our body is wasting away, our spirit is being renewed day by day. For our present troubles are light and short lived. Yet they are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. (2 Corinthians 4:16-17)
