Trusting in Jesus Christ Means...

1. Our sins are forgiven and forgotten. (Hebrews 8:12)

2. We are born again, (John 3:3) not physically, but by a spiritual transformation. We were created by God with a body on the outside and a soul and a spirit on the inside. 1 Thessalonians 5:23) Our soul is who we are (mind, feelings, will). (Genesis 2:7) Our spirit is our deepest part. It is dormant until we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior. At that point He gives life to our spirit and we are able to contact and receive the Spirit of God. (Ephesians 2:1)

3. Jesus Christ comes and lives within us. (Galatians 2:20)

4. Our lives have changed. We are a new person. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

5. Jesus said He would send the Spirit to us to be our Helper, Comforter, and Guide. (John 14:16) The Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence in the hearts of believers. (Romans 8:9)

6. We put our trust in Him and He imputes or counts to us His righteousness. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

7. If we die right now, we go to heaven right now. (2 Corinthians 5:8)

8. We take on the Christian ethic which is not arrogance but gratitude and thanksgiving. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

9. The essence of our Christian faith is grace. Grace is the love of God shown to the unlovely; the peace of God given to the restless; the unmerited favor of God. (Titus 2:11)

10. We have an abundant life right now. (John 10:10)

11. We have the only true peace which is "the peace of God". It surpasses all understanding and will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)

12. Through every trouble and trial that comes our way, God is with us for he will never leave us nor forsake us. Hebrews 13:5

13. We have Christian joy. It's that great feeling in our soul produced by the Holy Spirit as he causes us to see the beauty of Christ in the Word of God and in the world. (Galatians 5:22)

14. The Holy Spirit helps us in many ways. He comforts us when we're hurting. (John 14:27) He helps us recall the things we've learned about God (good when we talk to others about our faith). (John 14:26) He is our "Counselor" who will guide us in our everyday lives. (John 16:13) He convicts us when needed. (John 16:8)

15. We will never perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
