The Good News

God offers forgiveness, peace, and eternal life through Jesus Christ

God's Free Gift of Eternal Life

God loves you and cares about your life. He offers forgiveness and eternal life as a free gift through Jesus Christ.

Salvation cannot be earned by good works, religion, or personal effort. It is received by turning to God in repentance and trusting fully in Jesus Christ.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Why is this important? Every person will spend eternity somewhere. The question is whether we will receive God's offer of forgiveness and life through Christ or continue apart from Him.

Receive This Gift

Like any gift, God's gift of eternal life must be received. A gift may be offered freely, but it does not become ours until we accept it.

When a person turns to Christ in faith, the Holy Spirit gives new spiritual life. The Bible calls this being born again. The believer becomes a child of God and begins a new life with Him.

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." John 1:12

This offer is given to us during this life. None of us knows how long our life will be, so the Bible urges us not to delay.

What Must You Do?

If God is drawing your heart toward Christ, you can respond to Him now.

  1. Admit that you are a sinner and need God's forgiveness.
  2. Turn from your sins and repent.
  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead.
  4. Call upon Jesus Christ and place your trust in Him.
  5. Receive Him as Savior and follow Him as Lord.

A Prayer of Faith

A prayer does not save us by the words alone. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. You may express your faith to God in words like these:

God, I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins, and I want to turn from them. Please forgive me.

I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died on the cross for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead.

I trust Jesus as my Savior and desire to follow Him as my Lord from this day forward.

I ask You to give me new life and fill me with Your Holy Spirit.

Your New Life Begins

When a person truly trusts Christ, God begins a new work within that person. The believer is united with Christ and begins to live by faith in Him.

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20

We are saved by grace, but God also gives us a new purpose. He begins shaping our lives so that we may serve Him and do the good works He has prepared for us.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works." Ephesians 2:10

What Should You Do Now?

  1. Begin reading the Bible. The Gospel of John is a good place to start.
  2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
  3. Find a Bible-believing church where God's Word is faithfully taught.
  4. Spend time with other believers who can encourage you and help you grow.
  5. Ask the Lord to lead you, teach you, and use your life for His glory.
Freedom and new life in Jesus Christ

Be Set Free

Jesus Christ offers freedom from guilt, forgiveness of sin, peace with God, and the hope of eternal life.

The good news is that salvation is God's gift-and it is offered to you through Jesus Christ.
